The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #130 – George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park

George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park is the original bridge crossing Nassau Sound build in 1948. When the new bridge was opened in 1999, the old bridge was saved to become a pedestrian only fishing pier.

The parking area is shared with Amelia Island State Park, and across the sound is Big Talbot State Park, so there is plenty to see and do here.

The bridge offers great views over a salt marsh to one side and the open waters to the other side.

I set my gear up right on the bridge. It was clear and sunny, but a cold wind was whipping across the water. A man in a bright yellow sweatshirt was the main eye catcher.

This was a nice relaxing bridge to be on. Earlier in the tour, I tried painting on the fishing bridge at the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, but the wind and height made my stomach flip!
