The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location
It was a typical hot sunny summer day while we were at Lovers Key State Park near Fort Myers. First we explored the bay area where they rent kayaks and sups (stand up paddle boards). From a small dock on the bay we saw lots of mullet and even a manatee swam by. It was nice here, but I wanted to check out the beach area. So Rick stayed to fish the mangroves along the bay, while I walked over the lagoon bridge to the beach side. It was a long walk across the pretty lagoon and I finally arrived at a very wide beach. This has to be Florida’s widest white sand beach! I didn’t see much but an expanse of white, but I was too tired to walk back over to the bay. There were some picnic tables right by this mangrove, so I sat down and painted this view looking north.
