The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #111 – Orman House Historic State Park

We arrived at the Orman House Historic State Park late and it was closed. The afternoon light was still great and perfect for painting so I walked on the sidewalk to get a side view of the historic old home. I felt a bit odd since the park was closed, so painted quick and loose!

The house is on a hill overlooking the shrimp and oyster boats along the waterfront of the Apalachicola River. There is also a garden and Vietnam Memorial statue on the grounds. There is also an old servants quarters building near the parking area. Unfortunately it is falling down from it’s old age.

Sorry  this one was closed but very happy about your painting! It is lovely..  The old servants quarters looks quite intriguing.

Thanks Marge! I could’ve taken this painting a bit further to add more detail, but decided to just leave it the way it happened.
