The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #109 – Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park

For a Saturday afternoon, this park was very quiet. When we arrived some boy scouts were working on a landscaping project near the picnic area. There were only a couple of people fishing at the main fishing hole where the water sinks underground, and that was it!

Just beyond my painting spot, the St. Marks River goes underground, and then it resurfaces further downstream. There is also a first magnitude spring nearby, but it was fenced off so we couldn’t explore that area.

I set up to paint near a canoe launch area. it was on a bluff overlooking the view downstream. The light was filtering through the trees, and the leaves reflecting on the water.
