The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #108 – St. Marks River Preserve State Park

St. Marks River Preserve State Park is one of the newer state parks, so it doesn’t have all the amenities yet. But what it does have is many trails and lots of fall wildflowers! The trail eventually leads to the river, but we didn’t make it that far. It is a large park with over 7 miles of trails. We saw several horse trailers in the parking area, but we never saw them on the trail.

After taking photos of the many different wildflowers and butterflies, I decided to set up my gear just near the entrance. I liked the way the path curved beyond the pines, and the beauty berry bush loaded with purple berries.
