The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #106 – San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park

We arrived at Devil’s Millhopper State Park before it opened, so we drove just a mile or two down the road to San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. There were quite a few cars in the small parking area. Since this park is close to Gainesville, many people stop by here to walk the dog, take a run or just walk the trails.

I set up to paint in the woods along the trail. The trees were thick and only a few spots of sunlight came through the branches.

I just now realized after looking up their website for the link below, that there is another entrance further north, that leads to a much larger parking area and open prairie views. Oh well, next time!
