The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location
On the way to Perdido Key State Park, we saw the turn-off for this National park. We decided to make a quick stop here after a local fisherwoman told my husband about a few good spots to try wade fishing. She mentioned that there were springs in the water and the fish liked to hang out at the spring. Well, Rick tried but didn’t find the magic spot!
While he was fishing, I explored the park and saw my first ever Indigo Bunting! It is exciting to finally see something in person that you’ve only seen pictures of before. He was much smaller than I imagined. This one was a Juvenile male, with a bit of grey flecks showing through his jewel colored feathers. He was feasting on the seeds of a large sea grass plant right near the parking area. I also saw a huge bunny munching on some grass too.
We were only at this park for a short while, but it was definitely worth the stop!
