The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location
We arrived at Estero Bay Preserve State Park on an overcast morning. The sun didn’t show the entire time we were there. So my painting looks a bit moody! This is a large park with most of the access by water. There is an access point on land very close to the Koreshan State Historic Site (I am only visiting State Parks on this tour so no images from that park to share!)
The park seems popular with the locals who came out to walk on the trails, and a few brought their dogs. I didn’t travel very far down the trail, but still saw a surprising number of wildflower species in bloom! If you want to spend an afternoon hiking in a quiet park with plenty of birds, native plants and flowers, this is the park to visit! Nearby Koreshan is a good park too, with interesting history and views along the Estero River.
