The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park # 53 – Collier-Seminole State Park

Collier-Seminole State Park is located on the Tamiami Trail between Naples and Everglades City. On the edge of the everglades, this park is lush with oaks, royal palm trees and mangroves. First I took a walk down the trail through the oak forest. The branches were full of bromeliads and orchids, and the ground covered with ferns. The boardwalk was too tight of a squeeze to paint, so I decided to set up along a seawall that faced the canoe launch. Several groups went out on canoes and disappeared from view down the mangrove lined waterway. If you are traveling through the Everglades, be sure to make a stop here to explore the trails and waterways! For more information on this park, visit their website
