The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #36 – Lake Manatee State Park

We arrived at Lake Manatee State Park on a beautiful morning with a crisp cloudless sky. I explored the park and was surprised to find some Sky-blue Lupines blooming along the wooded trail. I thought it was early for them to be blooming, but we have had a few weeks of warmer days. I saw a family fishing from the dock, but there weren’t many boats out on the lake. The wind was really blowing and the water dark blue and white capping. I decided to paint a view of the sidewalk and lake through the scrub oaks along the waters edge.
