The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #30 – Kissimmee Praire Preserve State Park

When we arrived at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park, it was very foggy. You could barely make out a few distant palms amid the vast prairie. We drove along the long dirt road to the visitor’s center and scoped out the area. The vast prairie seemed very brown and boring when just looking out to the distance, but looking down there was an abundance of things to see! I didn’t expect much to be flowering in January, but there were many different flowers and butterflies to be seen! The fog was beginning to lift, so we doubled back to a spot off the road where I set up to paint the lifting clouds.
