The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location

Park #15 – Anastasia State Park

After painting at Fort Mose Historic State Park, we headed over to Anastasia State Park. It was still cold and windy, and we walked around the park to find a place out of the wind. We tried the beach – but aargh! It was so cold and windy a couple were flying kites on the observation deck wearing parkas! So we headed to the sound side and a few birds were fishing the shallows, but mostly just hunkering behind clumps of grass to be out of the wind too!

Finally I found a pretty bay tree to act as a wind breaker. It offered a great view of the sand dunes across the sound. As I painted the sun got lower in the sky, and the white dunes turned pink!
