The Florida State Park Plein Air Painting Tour – Painting each of Florida's State Parks on location
The drive to Little Talbot Island State Park takes you past the industrial port area into a beautiful natural set of barrier islands. The road travels over a bridge and the view of white sand and beach and river is so fantastic it is hard to keep your eyes on the road. We pulled into Little Talbot Island State Park as a rainy cold front was approaching. The sky was dark and cloudy and the water grey and churning. Even so, it was still a beautiful place to be! Where the waters met, the current was swift and the waves were crashing. The beach was nearly abandoned with just me, Rick and one other fisherman. I set up to paint where the river flows into the ocean with a view of the unknown fisherman. As I was painting all the shades of grey (no I haven’t read that book!) there was one light of pink in the sky just for me!
