About Me
I began to paint in 2006 as my way to escape everyday stresses & enjoy nature. As a native Floridian I feel most at home outdoors in the fields, marshes & woodlands. Plein Air painting has been a perfect way for me to capture our beautiful scenery on canvas and also soak in Florida’s wonder.
As the Blog name “Florida Scenics” notes, most of my paintings are natural scenes painted en Plein Air, (French for in the open air). These paintings have a loose spontaneous feel as they are done quickly to capture the moment. However I do enjoy to paint at my home studio too! There I can take more time and get more details in a scene.
